An Chultúrlann on its three floors, contains space for artistic and theatrical expression, a café, a tourist information office, community radio and the north’s largest dedicated Irish Language and media book and gift shop. An Chultúrlann is the jewel in the crown of Belfast’s emerging Gaeltacht Quarter.
Live traditional and contemporary music sessions, poetry readings, céilís, concerts, workshops and the children’s arts programme are just some of the reasons why An Chultúrlann is recognised as the Belfast Irish Experience. An Chultúrlann continues cultural traditions and develops them further through classes, workshops and performance.

Conradh na Gaeilge is the main voluntary community organisation that promotes the Irish language in Ireland and abroad, and its main aim is to reinstate the Irish language as the common tongue of Ireland. Since its foundation on 31 July 1893 members of the Conradh have been actively promoting Irish in every aspect of life in Ireland, from legal and educational affairs to the development of new media and services through Irish. The Conradh encourages the people of Ireland, it gives us a fresh new understanding of our precious heritage and it also gives us a respect for our Irish culture. The Conradh has 200 branches and the members of these branches work hard to promote the use of Irish within their own communities and are at the forefront of various campaigns to ensure the rights of Irish speakers are upheld and strengthened.
Seachtain na Gaeilge is a non-profit organisation, which promotes the use of Irish language and culture both at home and abroad within a two-week festival held in March every year, and this year took place between the 2nd - 17th March 2009. The festival has built up incredible momentum in recent years, becoming the largest celebration of our native language and culture held in Ireland every year and sweeping other countries up in the whirlwind along the way. With events ranging from simple conversational evenings to street céilís; speed dating to wine tasting it gives everyone a chance to experiment with Irish whether fluent from youth or only dipping their toe in for the first time. Organisations, local councils, schools, libraries, music, sporting & cultural bodies all register their Seachtain na Gaeilge events with us.
When we established the Guth Gafa international documentary film festival in 2006 there were a number of factors we could be certain of; we knew the location was first-rate in terms of its beauty, that’s one of the reasons we’re based here after all; we could be sure that visitors would be warmly received in the best Donegal tradition, and that they would revel in the local culture; and we knew we could run a good festival with local support and co-operation.
What was less certain was whether we could get sufficient quality films and film-makers to come, not only to Ireland, but to one of the most remote parts of the country. We think we’ve succeeded beyond anything we could have hoped for when we started out in 2006, in attracting multi-award winning directors and films to Gort an Choirce.
The challenge , after 3 years, is to maintain the high standards that we have set ourselves and continue to build the Festival from year to year.
The company Gaelchultúr Teoranta (Ltd.) was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting the Irish language and various aspects of Irish culture, including music, song and dance, in Dublin and other parts of Ireland.
